Default Rear driver tail light connector issue 06 accord

Hi, I got into a small fender bender and drivers side taillight assemby cracked. I ordered a part online, removed the old assemby and noted the wire connector isn't matching. On the bottom part only, it doesnt plug into it and appears to need some adapter?? I bought the part but it was not Honda original and now I am scrambling. Are there adapters for the wire connection? Does this issue seem to ring any bells out there? The part itself fits perfectly otherwise.

Is this a coupe or sedan? Trim level: LX EX, V6, etc.?

Are the number of wires the same for the connectors?

Can you post some pictures of connectors and wires?

If the wires are similar to your original tail light assembly, you could cut and splice wires from the electrical connector for your original broken lenses onto the replacement. --Another option, if you have the proper tools and have the know-how, push the terminals pins with wire out and swap them on the connectors for the old vs. new.

Thinking about it some more and looking at the Honda parts diagrams, is it the bulb connector that is different?

The 2006 Accords had an LED unit (array) that was removable, is the connector related to the LED unit? If it is the LED unit, and the original tail light's unit was not damaged, the unit can be pulled from the original by removing a few screws.

Right now, I am not sure which connector you're referring to.

Hey redbull, thx for the info. The car is a06 sedan, wife took car to work but I will try to get some pics tomm, the wire connector for the new looks like 2 wires the old (lower - poor fit )has 3. I haven't tried to pull the whole bulb assemby but I think I will try, my splicing skills are novice and I would be afraid to screw up both in the process

Hey redbull, I got it, the back of the led had the connection on the circuit board. Thanks for the info above about removing the led with the screws you were very helpful. The lit is perfect now.
