Exclamation rear shocks 2000 accord coupe

Send help!!!!! Where can I find the top of the rear shock in my 2000 accord coupe (trunk or rear seat)? What has to be removed to get to it? Knocking sound in left rear (sounds like shock is not tight or a bushing is missing). Happens when driving and I hit most bumps. May be more obvious when turning and hitting bumps. Examined all rear linkage from underside. Everything is tight with bushings intact. Must be top side of rear shock!!!!

I would suggest to download a 98-02 shop manual from the online manuals thread in the DIY section. It will show you how to take out either the trunk panel or the back seat to access the top of the shock.

Rear "bulkhead". Looks to be the "shelf" behind the rear seat,,,but you have a coupe. Section 20 of the manual will/does show the procedure.

Honda shocks are very good shocks, but do fail. I would check the stablizer bar bushings and end links carefully to be sure that's not the problem. Much easier/cheaper than new shocks.

good luck

Thanks poorman. I'll check it out. You may be a poorman but you're rich in knowledge.

I'll check those bushings again. Thanks for your advice.
