RE: recomended fluid for 5spd?

just basically people saying that honda MTF makes their trans grind and other fluids dont. Nothing very technical.
I would say try it. If it grinds, switch to syncromesh.

So, is GM Synchromeshfluidcompatible with /protective of a 1995 Accord manual transmission? Can we hear from folks who have been using Synchromesh in Hondas?

bump!

i had some honda MTF put in my car this weekend. and it does make a difference. although its not completly quiet it is quiet more often when shifting. i can't get over how thin the stuff is its like water! but hey what ever works. so far id recomend it in the older cars like mine that didn't come with it stock.

Yes it does work. My car shifts noticeably rough, and although the fluid didn't fix it, it helps to slide into gear a little easier now. Not perfect but I'm happier now with it then I was. 6.00 a quart.

No, you're wrong. Stop feeding people false information immediately. the "new and improved" Honda MTF, circa 2006, was reformulated to deal with such problems and does the exact same thing synchromesh does, only with the reliability that comes with genuine Honda parts. Honda MTF was designeed for Honda transmissions, why use anything else?

My 5 speed would grind in sometimes 3rd and every single time in 5th. Well i switched to Honda MTF and 3rd gear grind is gone and so is the 5th, even on the coldest days with no warm up. I thought i was going to have to replace the transmission, but this stuff has saved it...for now.
