Default Redline lowerd!

I own a 95 honda accord ex. After blowing my motor I bought a engine from a 97 honda accord ex vtec.I also changed my ecu becuse my old one was burned out.I tried to find an ecu with the same #'s as my origal one at wrecking yards but could not,so I ended up buying one from a wrecking yard after they told me there computer said it was a replacement for mine and that it would work for my motor. Now this motor is newer then my old one but I cant get the rpms past 5000 before I could go to 6000 maybe more I dont remember esacly.I was thinking it was the ecu beause my friend has a 98 accord vtec and his rpm doesnt go past 5000 eiter. Can someone please help me and tell me why I cant go past 5000rpm?Or what else can it be .Bye the way my friend and I both have at's

I'm with Evlamp on this. Check the ecu code. That 98 vtec should rev to about 6500. The computer is reading something wrong and limiting it for a reason. I don't think any F22's rev to only 5k.
