Default Replacing Oil Pressure Switch

Is it possible to replace the oil pressure switch without jacking the car up and putting it on stands? So I would be replacing it from above.

The car is a 97 Honda Accord SE non-vtec.

Thanks.

If you have long skinny arms....you might be able to get there. The tube from the air filter to the TB has to go....then from the pass side you should be able to get a hand there???? Never tried it that way.

Thanks for the reply.

Is the boot replaceable? I have heard that it can rip when being removed.

I don't see the boot listed as an item by itself...

If it does rip, I wouldn't worry about it that much.....

Thanks.

Do you recommend using an Honda oil pressure switch? Looks like they cost $20 from the dealer. Also what tape or sealant should I use when fitting the new one?

For $20 I'd just buy the oem one. Did you check hondaautomotiveparts.com? They are usually a bit cheaper and I have always been able to get my local dealer to match their prices. I found that local car dealer's prices are very negotiable. But even $20 isnt bad.

I would just put some teflon tape on it.

When you get the new one, inspect the threads. Sometimes they have sealant already on them, if not as Rice suggested a wrap or two of teflon tape and your will be good to go.
