Default Screw keeps coming out of shift stick

1998 Accord LX.- AUTO- trans.

The shift between the seat has a screw on the handle that comes out once every few months. When I look at it, the screw comes out on the driver side.
On the passenger side, there also a hole. Is there a cap that goes there? or is there another screw that also goes on on the passenger side?

I am thinking about taking the screw out on the driver side and add a dab of "Lock-tite" just to keep it form coming out again. This locktite is not permament, but just to keep it from working loose.

Any suggestions?

A 243 loctite won’t do any harm.

Do you mean you're going to use "screw tite" (a light weight version of blue loctite). I think that should work very well, and won't be a permanent, like regular blue loctite would be.

blue loctite isn't permanent, the green one is.

Loctite comes in different strengths read bottle and be sure you're not using a permanent one that's all.

Parts drawing shows both screws identical. So you could get another screw the same (even from a hardware store) for the other side. Some Loctite would still be good...

Not to change the subject but I always have the same issue with the damn little screw in the Honda key/fob. They have some "blue" thread sealer on them also but always back out.

Thanks for the inputs... I decided to get an extra screw from the junkyard. Then I used teflon tape on the threads.

If you don't hear from me again, then that means problem is solved. If the screws come out again, then I will try "blue tite".
