Service Bulletins
Has anyone ever taken their car in for service bulletins only?
I work for an OEM so I know how many silent recalls and service bulletins can exist for a car. There is nothing wrong with my car, I'd just like to get everything updated. Plus, I hate car dealerships, so I'm hesistant to do it. I don't want to end up worse rather than better.
Comments, stories, suggestions?

I took my S2000 in for a seat belt recall. It was a massive disassembly requiring seat removal, removal of all the trim around the convertible top mechanism, roll bars, and the rear cabin trim. I spoke to the technician who did the work beforehand to be sure he had already done one and he understood that I was concerned about the quality of the work. They did the job well but I did have to readjust the stops on the top when I got it back.
One piece of advice I would offer on recalls and technical service bulletins is to wait until the dealership has done some so you aren't the guinea pig. As with the seat belt recall I describe above, the work was complicated and involved other components in the car.
I have had good luck keeping up with recall notices and technical service bulletins via Forums and have done some of them myself or simply made the decision to ignore it depending on the seriousness of it. The web has taken some of the secrets away from the OEMs on recalls and TSB's!
I am new to this board but I hope that the recalls & particlarly TSB's get posted here in a PDF. For comparison, I believe I have them all for the S2000. I remember that I got copies of two TSB's from the dealer and scanned them for the S2000 board. Others did the same and the I believe the result is that the Forum has them all there.

I have the same concerns, I don't like anyone but me touching my car. But at the same time, I want to know about updates. Hardware TSB's are one thing, but what about ECU reflashes or replacements? There's no way to do it yourself.
Good idea on waiting for them to do a few first.
Admin,
How about a TSB or recall forum?
