Default shorted battery to ground, car is DEAD!

I was replacing the alternator on an 05 Accord, 2.4L. Didn't unhook the battery cables, and while I was removing the wire on the back, my ratchet touched ground and sparks flew! Got the car back together, and nothing, no dash lights, won't crank, anything.

I had this happen on a Cobalt and it was the BCM fuse in the trunk. Any ideas on where to start?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Ok, so apparently there is a funky "battery" fuse with three leads at the fuse box under the hood. It was blown, but all the auto parts stores were closed by the time I realized this. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have a running car again!

For future reference, usually when you short near the battery, one of the high amp fuses for the battery is a likely culprit.

If the parts store doesn't have one, try a junkyard.
