Angry Side Mirror (on Driver's side) - broken?

Hi,
Someone..broke my rear - view mirror on driver's side when my car was parked!!! Happened the second time.

So currently my mirror is handing by the wire that is going from my door into the mirror. I believe this is connection that allows me to adjust positions of my mirror.

Problem: The mirror is hanging loose and even if I tape it to the door it falls off after some time. While I take this car to the body shop and pay $$$ I need to temporarily hold up this mirror OR figure out how to remove the wire so that I can disconnect the mirror from the car.

Very frustrated..because couldn't find any information in the car manual or online. I tried the manuals posted however, couldn't find any manual for 2001.

Is there some instructions I can use to dismantle the wiring ? Any other way to solve the problem. My wife needs to take this car tomorrow for work related travel..it will be a big hassle other wise..

Any help would be great!

Okay any went through few youtube videos and loosened up the door panel. I couldn't remove it. Now I am stuck at one end - 'wire clip' I am not sure how to detach the wire from this clip.

If I am able to detach the wire I would be able to free up the mirror.

I am attaching the picture of the clip as well as the mirror hanging loose. Tried my best to take the picture- not sure if it is clear enough.

Its hard to tell from those pics. Removing the door panel will likely help.

I think that you can download a shop manual for a 98-02 accord from the spoon honda link in Online Manual thread in the DIY section. It is an .iso file that you would have to burn to a CD to run. A Haynes manual would be a good investment for jobs like this, and you can pick those up at any auto parts store.

If you can remove the mirror, then you may be able to find one at a junkyard with the same color. You would save yourself some $$$.
