Default Side Mirror Glass Repair

After hitting a misaligned construction cone, the glass in my driver's side mirror popped out and is gone.

I am trying to determine how difficult it is to replace just the glass without needing to buy the whole side view mirror assembly. I read some of the replies related to replacing the entire assembly, but nothing directly related to just the glass. My hope is that the part pops in to the assembly and I could find just the mirror at a salvage yard.

Anybody ever have this happen to them and if so, how did you replace? Any help is appreciated in advance.

Not yet, but I will call around. Actually, I live closer to a dealership than an auto parts store. Would there be a significant difference?

between the dealer and the auto parts store? possibly. Its also possible they may only sell it as a unit. You could also try an auto glass store.

Thanks for all your help. Honda sells the parts at the same price as any other store or online store. Unfortunately, mine is a Japanese-made model so the part must be special ordered and, therefore, slightly more expensive (about $35). Apparently, replacing the glass part is as easy as popping the new mirror onto the three control arms of the power side mirror assembly.
