Default Single Girl Needs Car Advice...

So I currently have a Camry but want something a little sportier...I like the look of Accords BUT since I've always driven a Toyota and really don't have any men to help me look at cars and give me advice on what to buy...I figured I'd ask you guys and see if you can help me at all! Would this be a good car to think about buying???

Most of us prefer Honda over Toyota, that's why we're here. I don't know much about Toyota, but when you get down to it, they all have pistons, crankshafts, & wheels...

Avoid '98-'02 automatic tranny, especially the V-6. Honda manual trannys are exceptionally good. It's too bad theymade a lot of delicate automatics...

What range of years or range of prices are you thinking about? If we don't know that, your question is pretty open-ended.

Well my 1995 Accord never had any major issues in the 235,000 miles it was driven. NONE. My 1999 Accord I just got drives like a dream even though I have no idea what the first 9 years of it's life were like. Personally, I have always liked the Accords over Camrys since they started their rivalry. Hondas are just better built. Period.

Also, since you don't have a bf at the moment the Honda probably won't drain your pocket with mechanic costs and you won't have to worry about fixing anything all by yourself, just come on here and ask away, that's what we are here for!

Toyota's are just as reliable.

My 2000 Accord's tranny died at 90k.

If you buy a 98-02 Accord with an automatic trans I think the odds are about 50/50 that the transmission is a peice of junk. Other than that, the 2003 and up 4cyl models had a timing chain instead of a belt so that is a big plus since you wouldn't have to get the belt changed every 100k miles or so.

Both manufacturers are great, but both have their downsides....

The tranny's on 98-02 accords are known to fail, so stay away from those...

I've been looking at nissans lately too...

honestly, i'd go for any jap car; they're all pretty good... maybe even korean?
