Hey I read up on a bunch of threads similar to this one. Anyway, I had another thread somewhere where I said my clutch would go to the floor randomly. Well, my clutch gave out on the interstate earlier today and I had to slam it into the gears (even though that's not recommended at all) and parked it in a parking lot. I got my friend Eric to look at it and I noticed my clutch fluid reservoir was near empty, so I filled it back up and we tried bleeding the clutch at the slave cylinder. Well, no luck. He called his friend Travis and he came over to look at my car and he says that hopefully the slave cylinder just needs to be replaced and will charge me $50 plus the price of parts. Well, I hope it's just the slave cylinder, but who knows what about the 6-speed clutches on the V6 Accords? I'd like as much input as possible please. Also, I'm having a hard time finding a slave cylinder online. We've checked Advance Auto Parts, OReiley Auto Parts, and Auto Zone. OReiley's has a slave cylinder for the 5-speed. Would anybody recommend that part (even if it has to be a last resort)? Anyway, where can I find a slave cylinder without going through the dealership? Thanks in advance everyone.

Go for a dash dive with a flashlight, look at the backside of the Clutch Master Cylinder to see if there is fluid seeping.
As far as bleeding the system, [my top secret method] is to use a big syringe and tubing from the farmers co-op and send the fluid thru the slave bleed nipple back up thru the system to the master.
Manual bleeding is hard because the line has too many ups and downs where air gets trapped.

 

We don't think the master cylinder is leaking because nothing has leaked onto the carpet. We're just having a hard time finding a replacement slave cylinder. Will a 5 speed slave cylinder fit the 6 speed transmission?

 

Probably not... why is it hard to find one?

 

It looks like they are different parts for the 5-speed vs the 6-speed.

#9 is for the V6 and #10 is for the I4.

Maybe the bore is the same so a 5-speed rebuild kit will work if you are in a big rush.

If not, I would get it online or from the dealership.
