Default Solenoid gasket question

I have a 98 accord 4-cyl. with 199k. I am trying to replace the solenoid v-tec gasket, but the dealer says I have to buy the whole assembly. He says that Honda does not provide a v-tec solenoid gasket for a 1998 accord. They only have the filter screen (goes to head of engine) gasket. What the heck do you do? I need to replace this gasket only, not the whole assembly.

A quote:
"What solenoid are you talking about?

The VTEC spool valve gasket & filter is part number 15825-P0A-015 - $10.00
The rotary air control solenoid gasket is part number 36461-PAA-A01 - $14.00

If you took apart the VTEC solenoid that also comes with part number 15825-P0A-015"

I'm looking for the v-tec gasket that sits inside the triangle housing and under the solenoid. It is called "solenoid gasket". I called several dealerships and they don't have/make this gasket for a 1998 accord 4-cyl. lx 4-door sedan. Can you look this up again?

The spool gasket looks very different from the v-tec solenoid gasket. It is not the same part number for sure.

there is only 2 gaskets...so it has to be one or the other. The vtec solenoid breaks down into 2 parts...so like was posted above...it has to be one or the other. I think the dealer is just tryin to get over on you...not uncommon

The 1st picture is the parts diagram for the 98EX, the 2nd one is the 95 EX.

The gasket 13 in the 98 has the same part number as 10 in the 95. That isn't the gasket that you need.

There is no equivalent on the 98 diagram as #12 for the 95. That is the one you need right?

Maybe the gasket 12 in the 95 diagram (36172-P0A-005) is identical to the gasket inside your 98? You would only be out $3.

Gasket 36172-poa-005 is very close, but not exact. I compared it with original part and the original part is slightly thicher. This is the part I have on the car now and it leaks. What do I do now? I don't want to buy the entire assembly!
