Default That sound

I'm wondering about a noise that occurs everytime I drive my 92 Accord. My brother had a 91 that made the same noise so I'm sure it's a normal thing. Everytime I start the car and just after I put it in gear, I hear a sound that lasts about 3 seconds coming from the I think the back end of the car. It's like a mechanical kind of whining sound, like something is moving...I'm pretty sure every 90-93 Accord makes this sound, I'm just curious as to what it is! Thanks.

Its not the antenna. I'm not sure why the fuel pump would make a sound after putting it in gear...I guess its just a mystery. Too bad Robert Stack is dead...he'd be able to figure it out...

Instead of starting the car turn the keyswitch to ON. If you hear the same sound for about 3secs, you know it's the fuel pump. I would call it a whiring hum.

good luck

even if he was alive he would be no help over the net,, when it comes to sounds one has to be there to properly diagnose,, people interpet sounds differently
