Default Source for VTEC diagnostic tools?

Note - I also posted this on the engines board.

The title pretty much says it all. I’m not great with searching the web, so it’s probably just me, but I’ve been trying for 2 days to source some of the air adapter tools for VTEC diagnostics and haven’t found anything that’s readily available (that could be received within a week).

I was hoping someone here would know where to find them. In particular I’m in need of this special tool - Air stopper 07ZAJ-PNAA200 - but if there’s a kit with multiple VTEC tools in it, that works too.

If you’d like a little more detail...

I’m a professional tech for an independent shop. Due to some recent dealership changes in the area, we’ve started seeing more Honda’s with VTEC engines. In the past 6 months, I’ve diagnosed 2 VTEC issues on Odyssey vans with 3.5 engines. I managed to make the adapters I needed using our stock of brass fittings and they worked, but now I’ve got an Accord with a 2.4 and every attempt at making the air stopper has failed. I can’t continue diagnosis without the air stopper, so right now it’s just sitting.

Given the number of Honda’s out there, I expected that Lisle, OTC, or another tool manufacturer would have something available for VTEC diagnosis, but if they do, I haven’t been able to find it.

Any source for the tools would be helpful, or if you’ve been successful in making your own air stopper for the 2.4 (it’s a 2006 if that makes a difference) I’d appreciate some guidance or photos in how you did it.

Thank you.

I don't know the thread size. I just looked at an OEM parts site (hondapartsnow.com) and the part number you listed retails at ~$8.

It may be easier just to buy it from a Honda dealership.

Thanks for the link - found what I needed.

The threads are just 1/8” fine pipe thread. The issue is that the stopper depth and width has to be correct. The bore itself is 2” - 3” deep, with the drain from the VTEC oil control valve being at the top and the drain into the timing chain cover being about 1” below that. The stopper has to fit somewhere between those 2 to properly seal the drain. I didn’t have a problem getting the depth correct, but finding a good way to match the width was the problem.
