I have had my 1998 accord for a little over 2 years now.. the srs light has been on the whole time, it is now just really irritating me. can anyone help me get it to turn off and even tell me why its on? also, my check engine light comes on only when its cold out. never comes on in the summer, but will come on and stay on for a week or 2 when it gets really cold, then randomly turn off for another week or 2.. its starting to get annoying! the code is coming up for my tranny, but my tranny is strong! help please!!!

 

You should post the code for the transmission, because there are multiple codes that direct to different problems.

The 98-02 accords were notorious for having transmission failures. You may want to do a drain/refill using Honda ATF.

Once the SRS light turns on, it will stay on until you reset it. If the light returns, then you will have to diagnose the SRS problem and fix it.
