My 97 has the same problem but I was unable to pull any codes.

Old thread but I have a 96 accord lx 2dr that has the srs light on and has for many years and wondered if I can fix this as I just did my 2000 Accord SE? I see the OBD II behind the ashtray but that 2 prong yellow connector that would need jumping I didnt see right off. Before doing anything I thought I would check here and see if I can safely do the checks to see what the codes are and hope to clear the light.

On my 2000 Accord SE I have just finished (i hope) clearing the SRS light on it by doing the jumper in the OBD II as I saw in this video and finding that the codes were for the driver and passenger seat belt buckles. Since my 2000 Accord now has a rebuild title (long story) the Honda warranty would not help. So I ordered the belt buckles from the dealer and installed them and so far so good, no SRS light on.

This was the video I used on my 2000 Accord, I couldnt find one that matches my 1996 Accord LX though.

 

Looks like you can short the service connector that is under the glovebox to get the SRS codes. This is less risk vs shorting the obd2 connector, but I'd assume you can do this as well.
