Default starter bad confirmation needed please

Just looking for confirmation before i buy any parts

92 accord EX manual

1 got in turned on ignition and the starter would not spin all lights blower worked. i rolled it off. same day it started 5 times with out a problem
2 next morning would not turn starter over no clicking sounds just silence. I got out the battery booster didnt help (didnt think it would). With ignition in the start position when I press the clucth i can here it click once for every depression so im pretty sure its not the clutch switch.
I lightly tapped on starter it started up i drove 3 miles would not start again.
whats most likely part to start with cheapest first please its got 255k on it I have more than got my money out of it and it still runs like a screaming demon.
TIA

Pretty much sounds like the starter, I'd pull it and just before buying the new one, ask them to test the old....but the "tap" on the starter and it worked........

A lot of times, you can replace the contacts and the solenoid inside the starter. I can't remember where I bought my contacts, but search the forums for links to sites with the contacts.

I had my starter rebuilt at a local shop for $40
It has worked perfectly ever since.
