my buddy has a 91 accord Ex and today his driver side front door locked closed and wont open. the key locks and unlocks the door but the door wont release what do we have to do to get the door to open

 

Unless he can remove the door panel to access the door latch, which some people have done without the door open, he may have to drill or something. See this link:

i had to finally take mines to a body shop. i removed the door panel and they (the body shop) drilled the catch latch until it broke.
