Starter bolt!!!
Hello everyone and thank you for looking and trying to help! I have a 94 Accord EX and it has an F23A swap still running the original tranny. Did some work to it recently and long story short, i lost the lower starter bolt. I went to junkyard and took one off of another Accord and when i got home, it didnt fit. Can anyone please tell me the correct size bolt needed and possibly best place to get? Thanks again!

Thank you for the reply TexasHonda! Are those Honda places you mentioned online? Im also wondering what exact bolts i am supposed to ask for hecause, like i said, the engine is F23A and tranny waa from F22. Is it the exact same block? I ask because the starter bolt goes into block if I'm not mistaken ..

The bolt should be the same for a 94 Accord with an F22 engine. While not the same block, they're close enough to share some parts.

I guess the access is too tight to get a caliper in the hole, and measure the diameter? I suspect there will only be two pitch options once you know the diameter.
You could also see which SAE bolt will slip in the threaded hole (without engaging the threads)...then, simply go up to the next largest metric size.

On a F23, # 8 in the parts image is Honda Part No.: 95701-10035-08, Bolt, Flange (10X35). That is M10-35mm. Probably a 1.25 thread pitch.
So, M10-1.25 x 35mm.

Hmmmmm, ok, now i think we are getting somewhere. The bolt that i took out of the transmission in the 94 Accord at junkyard is an M12 i believe. The top bolt matched perfect, and the bottom one fits it the hole and starts the thread about half way with fingers and then stops. It was an F22 with tranny it came with and had starter in exact same position with same electrical connectors and everything. Now i dont know a whole heck of a lot about bolts, but i got washers for it and they are M12 and fit perfect on bolt from pick-n-pull.....this issue is killing me becausei just spent over a grand in parts to refresh car and only lost this one bolt out of the 50 i took off and now its the only thing keeping me from being able to drive my car..

Ok, so I just looked at F23 starter bolts and the ARE pretty close in length. There is no way those bolts are the ones because it is not nearly long enough to even get to the threads. The bolt has to go through a section of tranny where there are no threads, then about an inch and half into the engine block where there are threads. I beleive the VTEC and non-VTEC Accords had different starter positioning in those years, but i got my bolts out of one that had starter in same position, so i know i took them out of correct tranny. And yes, there are holes in same location on F23A block....HELP!!! Ive gotta make sense of what bolt is needed for this.

The bolts I previously listed were for an Accord with an automatic.
For a manual, the bolts are Honda Part No.: 93401-10032-08 Bolt-Washer (10X32) and Honda Part No.: 95701-12105-08
Bolt, Flange (12X105). So, M10-1.25 x 32mm for the shorter one.
The longer one is M12-1.25 x 105mm.
You didn't list whether your car was a manual or automatic. However, from what you just stated regarding the M12 bolt and being long, you probably have a manual.
