Default Struggles on cold starts

Hello, So I have a 95 accord which sometimes doesnt want to start. IT takes me a good 4-5 tries for it to turn on. it doesnt want to turn over and if i dont hold down the pedal while trying it wont turn on. A friend told me it might be the fuel filter which might be clogged. Any idead?

It turns on perfectly fine once its warmed up

you don't say where you live or how cold it is.
just a wild guess question, but are you using the correct engine oil viscosity ?

Answer the questions in the previous post.

Also, when you are having starting problems, is the starter spinning the engine at about the same speed? Or won't the engine start running on its own (when you can release the key)?

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I live in miami,fl and the starter does spin sometimes but other times it just makes a grinding sound. I know it's not the starter because I actually just changed it today the last one died on me im guessing because I kept trying to turn the car on and it just killed it.

but sometimes it just wont do anything its really weird but it always ends up starting

it actually sounds like if its a ignition problem but I really dont know im no expert. also if I play with the throttle cable and make the rpms accelerate to about 2500 instead of the regular 1500 @ start up it always starts up with no problems. but then the car is really accelerated. idk if that makes sense.

Does this only seem to happen after the car has sat for a period of time?
