Default suspension question

I've got a 96 sedan, whilst taking the knuckle off, I used the trust hammer to separate the upper control arm from the knuckle. apparently I struck the threads on the ball joint a couple of times, and they are basically done. I don't have the money right now to go and buy either the adjustable ball joints (plan on lowering the car eventually anyway) or new control arms (only genuine stuff there, I learned my lesson on that one already). I tried the local junkyard, but both of the ones they had in my same gen. have been sent to the scrap metal place, there are tons of 4th gens in there, they have strikingly similar suspension components, but does anyone know if they are swappable, atleast for a short term fix?

nothing will save you more money than a good tap and die set in the long run....
