Default Timing Belt Kit for '98 2.3 EX

Hi there,

I am relatively new to the forum and I need some assistance. I need to do the timing belt job on my '98 2.3L EX and I am looking for someplace that sells a kit with the belt, pulley, tensioner, etc...

Can someone point me to a reputable place where I can order it? Thanks.

AGT

tasauto.com is your best bet.

here is a link to several of their timing belt packages:

Is there a list of parts and a DIY out there? I would think that there has to be.

A haynes/helms shop manual would give you a step by step.

It is recommended you have some mechanical background.

I will tell you honestly that it is something I have never done, and don't look forward to doing myself. I will/have pull the engine out of my car no problem, but that is something I don't want to mess with, because if you mess up the consequences arent so good.

Thanks for the advice but I am pretty mechanically inclined and have done TBelt jobs before on so this is something I can tackle. I just want to have all the resources in from of me from the pioneers that have done this before to make sure I have all the parts I need to replace while I am in there and see what nuances this job may have that others don't.

use Honda factory parts,, you don't have to do it again for at least another 90k miles

get a t-belt, balancer belt, valve cover gasket, cam seal, balancer shaft seal, bal shaft seal retainer ( yes install one ) crank seal.water pump, coolant ....as for the tensioner spin it when you have it out if it is noisy replace it ,,,,,I have done lots of t-belts and 99.9 percent i have reused the tensioner with no problem if it is noisy or you got the extra money than go ahead and replace it , alt + p/s belts.. that should be it ..

Does this write-up work pretty close for a '98?

i just opened it up and saw it working ..you got to get to the DIY section and open it there

if you are still having issues opening it up,, you might have to download ADOBE READER so it can read PDF files
