When you pull out the little plug, you can rotate the crank till you see the timing marks on the flywheel. The center mark of the 3 that are close together. [RED mark]
If you unplug the vacum advance line, the timing should show the TDC [WHITE mark]mark.
For more low RPM power retard the timing a couple degrees; or for higher RPM power advance a couple degrees.
