Default Tire Question

I'm planning on replacing my tires and was wondering what is a good replacement tire for the oem Michelins? I don't want to break the bank. I was looking at some Toyos - Proxes and the new Versado. Does anyone have experience with these? I was quoted ~ $571 for a set. That's about my price range.

I appreciate any input.

$571 is to much. Around here Big O puts them on for less than $400.

Baker,
The $571 price I was quoted included an alignment; the salesman I talked to also said: "he could sharpen his pencil and do better." If you can get those tires for less than $400, you are making out well. Where is "around here" ?

Check out tirerack.com. Even if you don't buy from them, their site has lots of good info & some user-review data compiled.

^ Yes, my experience with the tires on my g/f's 96 accord, Yokahama's have been the smoothes and bestride so far. We have personally had the "Warrior's", "Pirelli's", and "Yokahama's". Check out the reviews on them at "discounttire.com".

To anyone who is interested:
I ended up going with the TOYO Versado LX tires. It ended up costing me ~ $600 for the set; that included extra warranty and 4 wheel alignment. I almost went with the Yokahamas, however, the Toyos were a notch above them. I only have a little driving time on them, however, they feel great! If I have any issues with them, I will post.

I love Yoko, but the set that I have on now (AVS db S2) have dual depth rain channels and they've cracked all the way around the tire!!!! 2 channels per tire, all 4 wheels!!!!

I think I'm going with Toyo's next time because this just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yokos perform beautifully though ...... about double the handling over stock regs.

Toyo Proxes 4 is a good choice. (and what will be going on my accord when the michelins die.) Watch out for the Turanzas, they are very sensitive to alignment and will wear badly (and irreversibly.) The yoko's are ok. Never had a set but my dad's acura TL had some YK420's on it that worked ok. The Michelins are $$$ but worth it IMO.
