TPS Problem or Transmission problem? 2001 ACCORD
Hi Everyone,
I have 2001 Honda accord EX. For the past 2 weeks, for the first 2 minutes, only when the engine is cold, I will have hard shifting from 1-2 and a high rev into those gears. I'll pull out of my parking spot, put the car in to drive and it will rev past 3k rpm, then jerk into 2nd. If I wait for the car to fully warm up it, everything will work perfectly and all shifts are smooth. The other day, it was rainy and the problem was the worst I have seen, it ended up putting my car into LIMP mode and gave a code 7 ( seven long blinks). I did a sweep test with a voltmeter to my TPS and it seems fine; however it did jump up in voltage between .40 V to 1 V a lot faster than 1V- 5V. What could be causing this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, the 98-02 trans in these cars does not have a good rep.
Did this "code 7" come from the D4 or the CEL? I'd suggest getting the codes read from a parts store and get the actual code from them and not their description....."P" and four digits....P0973 or something like that. The OBD-II codes are a bit more descriptive.
My next question would be, when was the last time the trans fluid was changed and please tell me Honda trans fluid was used.

I recently did a 3x drain and refill when the problem first started to occur. The level may be a little high, it hits the upper mark; but this problem also occurred when it was in between the upper and lower marks. Also, when I did the ATF there wasn't much metal shavings or any chunks... so I'm hoping not a trans problem.
