Default tranny fluid (manual)

What is the best fluid for a Honda manual tranny? I know that for ATF it's Honda's Z1, but what about manual. This is for my friend's SI.

I may change to GM Synchromesh with friction additives...That's been recommended to relieve the shift issues in the 6mt.

cool .... thanks guys ...... I think he's going to use the Honda fluid ...... he planned to already, but I figured that I'd ask in case there was a better fluid. Smag ..... he's got the 5 speed with no "notchy" problems.

The dealer did an overhaul on mine...replaced several items (3rd gear mainshart, 3-4 shift fork, 3rd gear set), and the issue prevailed.

I reported that back to them, and I could tell he didnt know what to do next. I am going to ride with a tech the next time I am there.

Honda has a "new & improved" manual tranny lube but I don't have the part number handy. I use Red Line and find it far superior to the Honda fluid. I will be switching to the GM stuff on the next change but that's a way off yet.
