Tranny Replacement and CV joint issue
Well I'm putting a new tranny in my accord. I have gotten the old one out along with the clutch. My problem is the bolts for the pressure plate are 12 point. Now I was able to get a 10mm wrench on my sanding it thinner so it would fit and not hit the prssure plate but it was kind of a crude method and didn't work the best. My issue is will a 12 point socket fit on or should I not waste my time buying it. How is it normally done?
EDIT: I'm also having an issue with the CV joint. When I was removing the driver's side CV joint which is brand new I guess I must have popped the bearing out. How do I get them to sit back in, I tried to push them back in but can't whats the trick. |
RE: Tranny Replacement
If it requires a 12 point, use a 12 point. They're only a few bucks.

RE: Tranny Replacement
Yes, I get that but my problem is that it is hard to get anything on it because of the tight fit between it and the pressure plate. I was wondering what anyone else uses to get it off. If there is some special socket or wrench I just don't know about, or what.
Also I edited my post, I'm having an issue with the CV joint as well. |
RE: Tranny Replacement
I was able to find a 10 mm 12 point thin wall socket, so now I'm just having my cv joint issue
