trans fluid change 6speed manual
trying to break free the fill plug, my 3/8" extension broke off in the square hole. the drain plug broke free easy and the inspection 10mm plug came out easy. can I ad the fluid through the inspection plug ? has anyone done this ?
Hmmm, the hole was pretty large, easily enough to get a finger through, and easily enough to put a small hose in to pump the MTF in.
the check bolt on mine is 10 mm and I don't have a pump. so I am going to put a 3/8" hose through the sensor hole that looks to be about 5/8" and hold the funnel near the radiator. #1 going to raise car up on right side on level ground,#2 remove the plastic weather guard,#3 remove sensor first,#4 remove drain plug , drain into pan,#5 lower jack, #6 let rest drain into pan.#7 raise the jack. reinstall drain plug,, #8 put 3/8" hose into sensor hole, lower jack, add two quarts to funnel.#9 raise jack, reinstall sensor, remove check bolt,#10 lower jack, look for any oil to drain from check bolt. raise jack. reinstall check bolt. put plastic trim back on, lower jack and recycle oil. see if trans 3rd gear issue is resolved. putting in gm friction modified syncromesh.

Thinking about the side hole again, what if you run a tube down from above? That way you won't need to use a pump.
Consider using a high quality breaker bar with a cheater bar. That fill plug should break loose.
For people reading this in the future. Always loosen the fill plug before the drain plug so you are not stuck with a vehicle without fluid.
thanks, there are two sensors under there, one lower than the check bolt and one above the check bolt, guess its the bigger one above check bolt, took out 10mm bolt grabbed it and pried on it a little it is stuck. going to try again in the morning , bigger screw driver and flashlight. any suggestions on getting that speed sensor off side of trans ? I don't want to break it.
it think it would take too long to try to fill it via the check hole. I think you turn it counter clock wise, then it will pop out. going to try again.
