Default Transmission won't shift to overdrive

95 Accod AT
I was driving down the road when the car sputtered and lost drive as if it was in nuetral. It shifts good to 3rd but when it shifts to OD it acts like it is in nuetral.
It also has a hum to it mainly when I let off the fuel.

Engine code reads 12 but I assume that has nothing to do with transmission?

What do I need to do? Thank you!

Check for transmission codes. See the common DIY thread on top of the gen tech help forum for reading CEL codes.

Did the check engine light blink a code 12, or the D4 light?

Did the D4 light blink any codes?

No blinks from the transmission, only 12 from the check engine light.

Start with the simple and inexpensive stuff. Check your fluid level in the transmission. When was the last time you did a drain/refill of transmission fluid?

I have never changed the fluid however recently I did have a transmission leak and added 2 quarts I am not sure if that cause the issue or not as I noticed the leak while it was parked but I cannot verify when it started.

Anyway, now the fluid level is fine. What would be next? Solenoids?

What kind of fluid did you use?
