Default Trunk Torsion Bar Replacment

Hi, I have a 1997 LX , i need help replacing one of the torsion bars that hold the trunk lid up. I have some mechanical knowledge and can do this my self with the correct information. Please help, my daughter uses her trunk alot and dont want her to have the trunk keep falling on her.
I have seen people use vise grips and claw hammers to do the trick but heard of devestating results. Honda makes a replacement tool i think.
Any help please ...

There is a tool made for this but you can use vise grips if you lock them tight in the right position

Thanks for the advice... I'll give it a shot whenever my daughter brings it back and lets it cool off long enough for me to work on it ..
