Tyre noise !!

Default Tyre noise !!

I have a humming rumbling it sounds like the bearings but diffrent people have told me its thetyres...Has any one else had this problem ? Its a 2.2 ctdi accord on a 55 plate.

Where is the sound located? Can you pinpoint the location?

What does 55 PLATE mean??

55 plate is the number you get in europe (I think). It corresponds to the year...

Sorry forgot to say i am fromEngland and the 55 plate means the car was regestred in 2005. The noise comes from the wheels, looking at various blogs it seems quite common.

Well a visual check of the tires for chopping on the outer edges is fairly simple; you can also run your hand over the tread to feel for lumpiness.

To check for wheel bearing noise; drive at highway speeds and lightly steer in each direction to listen for the noise to change.
