Default Upper half gears seem "padded"

Hey guys, back for more
98, coupe 5speed MT
recently the damper tube assembly (the metal/rubber combo hose that goes from the master cylinder to the slave) ruptured. the car was immobile for almost a month while i waited for the part. Finally got and now im driving it again.. feel great BUT i have a problem. Putting it into first, 3rd or fifth gear seems that the stick is not going all the way up. Like sencond gears falls all the way in and down jsut fine, with the upper gears it feels like there some kind of ;padding' or like a spring pushing is back. 5th gear is really wierd... once its in fifth, it will drive fine ( in all the gears) but when i accelerate, i can feel the **** being pulled up.. but if the clutch is pressed, the slightest TIP from my finger slids it OUT of gear... as if its not up into gear all the way ... any idea, or help please?

even with the car off i tried feel like the same so i dont think its cluth related.. maybe gear lube ? has to do with the amount of time car was out of commission?

it sounds like a cable adjustment issue.

i think he meant shifter cables, as if it actually ISNT going into gear correctly. If by upper gears you mean 1,3,5, then yea, i would have to agree. if you mean 3,4,+5, then i would guess its some sort of internal problem in the transmission, like the dog teeth (i think thats what their called) are stripped.

I should have clarified, I was talking about the shifter cables, not the clutch cable.
