Very easy question for some one with a 7th gen Ex-L model

Default Very easy question for some one with a 7th gen Ex-L model

I am trying to test all of my electrical systems as I used my car to jump start a 24 volt system and I want to make sure I didn't burn anything up...

One thing I can't remember is do the window and lock lights on the doors dim with the rest of the dash lights??? I swear I remember that happening, but could be totally off someone want to check for me

it's a v6 6 speed coupe.

As long as you hooked the battery in parallel w/ a single 12V battery you should be OK.

If you hooked across 24V, I don't know that damage would occur, but suspect it's possible since runaway voltage on an alternator can damage components.

Post what year your vehicle is in your signature line. I forget what generation is which. I don't have a V6 manual in any case.

I hooked my car to one of the 2 12 volts on a tractor with a diesel motor...
Didn't realize it even had two battery's until after I tried to jump start it...
Possibly when the tractor was kicking over it may have pushed too many amps/volts?

So far haven't noticed anything other than that possible dimmer switch it's a 2006 Accord V6 6 speed manual ex-l.

If you hooked correctly to a single 12V battery, you should be fine.

they don't, they only come on with key in ignition and don't dim with the rest of the system. and contrary to other posters, don't ever do that again...you got lucky.

Yeah, lucky. By connecting your car across one of the batteries in the 24v system, you create unequal "sharing" of the electrical load with the other battery.

It would've been a lot worse if you connected your car across both batteries together; but don't do it again.

Just because the tractor had two batteries doesn't mean that it was a 24 volt system. My truck, a stock Ford (7.3L) Diesel, has duel batteries and it has a 12 volt system.

I'm just curious...
Two batteries in parallel to give higher capacity 12v?
Or the 2 batteries separately power different systems? (say 1 for starter, 1 for everything else)
