Default Vibration between 1700-2000 RPM

I feel a slight vibration through the gas pedal when im acceleration between 1700-2000 rpm. I feel it more in 1st and 2nd. There is also a little grinding kind of noise when I feel the vibration. It doesn't seem to happen when I'm not in gear. Also I don't feel it as much when I put it in 1st and 2nd. I notice it more in D3 or D4. How concern should I be about this? Oh and when I say slight I mean its really not noticable because my dad drives the car sometimes and he hasn't noticed it until I told him. I also let a few friends drive it to see if they notice it without me telling them and none of them did until I told them about it.

I slight stumble in that rpm range could be caused by clogged EGR ports on the manifold. I'm not sure about the grinding noise.

Here is a link to a pdf on how to clean them out. The 94-97 instructions are on the last two pages.

the vibration issue could be inner cv joints.. either worn, starting to wear or not enough grease in them

So I took my car to the dealer and they said I need to replace my CV boots. It's going to be $300 to replace all four. Is that a reasonable price? Do I need to replace four or can I just do the front two? What problem will occur if I take too long to replace them?

Oui....Oui!
Take it to another shop and ask them if changing your CV boots will stop the grinding...afraid not...go to Auto Zone and price 4 CV axels and they will cost about $ 60.00 each...boots are only a fraction of that cost...then find a new wrench to help you out...

How are those $60 CV joints in quality? How hard will it be to change them?

Quality is great..the are backed by AutoZone a 8 billion $$$$ company for Life and if you have never done a CV axel, then I suggest you get a friend with a Good Tool box to help you do them..
Hope that this post helped you:

Sounds good. How long can I go without causing more damage to my car? Should I change them ASAP?

I can't just replace the CV joints? Are axles and CV joints the same thing?
