VSA light/VSA warning light/CEL on and cruise control not working
Hi, Just a few days ago my VSA light, VSA warning light, and checking engine light came on. Since I was just driving around town I didn't really notice anything wrong. On monday when I got on the highway to go to work I noticed that my cruise control didn't work and my acceleration was slugish. The cruise light turns on but when you go to set a speed that light doesn't come on and the speed won't set. I was wondering if maybe a fuse blew or something, because other than the slow acceleration (which the manual said happens when VSA is off) the car drives just like it normally does. Not a lot of forum help though for 2008 cars with over 140000 miles on them though.

Do not drive this vehicle or run the engine until you get it fixed. You risk seriously damaging the engine.
A P0341 means the crankshaft and camshaft are not turning in the same phase. It is likely the timing belt/chain is stretched or the belt/chain jumped time.
This is not likely a sensor problem, because there are no codes for the individual sensor. Some diagnosis would confirm.
A 4-cylinder accord has a timing chain. A V6 has a timing belt.
You need to get the belt or chain replaced along with the tensioners. If the belt/chain breaks or slips severely, you will have engine valve (possibly piston) damage and a very expensive repair. Replacing the timing belt or chain should fix the problem.
A good mechanic that specializes in Hondas (or foreign/Japanese) vehicles can handle this. A Honda dealership can handle this as well. Get some quotes, because this is not a beginner's DIY kind of job.

Is there anything that could have caused this other than old age. I took it to a honda dealership on 10/21/16 for an oil change and inspection. Mostly because it was my last week working for honda and they had onsite maintenance.
I am scheduled to take it into a honda dealership tomorrow, so we'll see what they say.

I tried to get that one under the warranty but they issued the warranty for 125000 when i was at 123500, and they said they needed 3000 miles of travel to make sure you qualified for the recall. They need to prove your engine ate up your oil or something, but I've been topping my car off with full synthetic oil in between oil changes since 80000. So always new oil every 3000 miles and an inspection every 6000K.

Low oil or low oil pressure is the most likely cause. Not sure how much oil loss you had on your engine.
Did they document you bringing in the vehicle at 123500 miles? Does the engine have a horrible noise when you start (search youtube for an example). The mechanic will be right there to replace a VTC actuator when doing a timing chain. It may be worth a shot to see if the dealer will cut you a break (or call honda of america).

Well I started adding my own oil when after an oil changed they mentioned that I had really low oil after like a 7500K oil change at around 80K. Since then I've always added about 2.5 quarts every 3000 miles myself.
Yea its had the VTC noise since probably like 70K. It wasn't until like maybe 105K that a dealer could diagnose it, but at the time they said they could replace the VTC but the noise would continue until a recall with an actual fix was issued. And by the time the recall (which was an engine fix to stop oil leakage) was issued I was over the mileage limit.
I'll probably have to call honda of america, because the VTC info came from Honda corporate, and since I don't work there anymore I'm taking it to a local dealer.

By the way both the dealer and honda of america would not cover any of the repairs. Even though I had brought up this problem with them as far back as 108000 miles ( I was told to wait for the recall and then was over the mileage limit by the time the recall was issued) Apparently not being the original owner of the is a BFD. Even though i've had the car for 111000 of its miles.
