Water Boiling
hey yall i have a question i have water boiling in i guess its the radiator overflow?? The plastic container on the passenger side on the radiator, My a/c cooling fan i think it is called(passenger side fan) is out, its not running hot on my gauge and just boiling in that container, is it just that fan causing this?

RE: Water Boiling
That fan should kick on when you turn on the A/C, if it doesn't then turn your a/c on and test the plug to the fan for power, if it doesn't have power then check for power to the relay, if it does have power then beat on the motor a little bit with a big screwdriver and plug it back in, if the fan starts to move for a second it's a bad motor, if it doesn't move at all, it's probably still a bad motor *L*

It's hard to say if it's the only thing.... does your temp guage ever read hot? Is your coolant full? Make sure that if you've added coolant recently that you bleed the system, it could just be blowing air out and then it gives the impression that it's boiling and that would be due to low coolant

RE: Water Boiling
If you don't have any leaks, the pressure in the system should prevent it from boiling unless:
[ul][*]the level is low[*]the heat generated is higher than can be removed by the radiator/fan[*]the coolant is contaminated or incorrectly mixed[*]there is a flow restriction (closed thermostat, collapsed hose, pluggage, etc.)[/ul]
