weird ac problem.. plz help??!!!??
Hi guys! My name is Kendra I'm a newbie to this forum. Thanks in advance for the welcomes! I need a little help from you guy if you don't mind. My a/c is not working properly. When I turn the air on inside the car the a/c compressor doesn't come on. But when I turn the air off the a/c compressor clicks on and off and also the fans come on. Now let me give you some history of this on going problem that I've been having with this car. It all started when I hit a dog about a year ago. That messed up the condensor and the Hi and Low lines. I had another car at the time so I didn't get it fixed right away. The car sat for about 6 months. So when I finally got the time to look into getting fix I toke it to the dealer and had everything replaced. It worked fine for about a month. Then it slowly started to not get cold anymore. I toke it back to the dealer and they told me that the compressor was going bad. So I parked it again until I got the money to replace the compressor. So I bought a compressor and my father put it on for me he vacumed and recharged it for me. And now I have the problem that I'm having now. Can ANYONE HELP! Ive spent thousands and Im just trying to saving alittle..:-) Thanks in Advance

In the common DIY index at the top of this forum, there is a HVAC test that you should try.
When you pulled a vacuum, did the system hold the vacuum for a while? How much R134a did you put into the system?
I would also hook up a manifold gauge to read the high and low pressures.

Thanks PAHonda. I tried that HVAC test. And I may have done something wrong Im not sure. Can you give me a link to the directions. Tek310 the pressure is where it suppose to be from what my father tells me. And my husband seems to think it has something todo with the computer system.
This is based on my TSX shop manual, so it should be similar to your accord. I highly suggest getting a shop manual for your car if you plan on DIY work. I got mine as a pdf for $22 from automanualsource on ebay. It is worth the investment.
The blower motor relay is on the same circuit as the compressor and radiator fans and could be your problem. If you switched the blower motor relay with a relay that was identical that is not important (like rear defogger relay, power windows, etc...) See if the problem corrects itself with a known working relay.
