Cool what type of spark plugs?

Hello,

Have not posted for a while, my 97 Accord SE has been running pretty good.

I've got 30K on my plugs and 10K on my air filter, and was thinking of changing both out.

Was wondering if the plug change is a little early, and if I do change them what plugs are usually best.

Air filter, I'll probably get a filter from the local Advanced Auto Parts store.

Stay cool!!!!!!!

I only recommend NGK plugs for Hondas.

+1 NGK
If the car is running fine, why change them? I would pull them out to inspect first.

Cool

I just replaced them with NGK V-power plugs. Cost was only 10.00 and some change, and a pretty easy job.

I too was thinking it might be a little early for a plug change, since they were done 3 years/30k miles ago.

Was surprised to have a fair amount of oil in the plug holes. Even the tips of the plugs where the connector goes on was very coated. When I did the plugs 3 years ago I had the same problem, and pulled the valve cover and replaced the upper seals and cover gasket.

I guess those seals don't last long?

Any it was worth doing based on the condition of the plugs. I am thinking about a more frequent check (say every 6 months) and pulling the wires and inspecting for oil.

Thanks all!

Your accord SE has the f22b2 engine, so it has lower seals for the spark plug tubes.

Search wYU8qtPzQOY on YouTube to see how to change them out. It is an ericthecarguy video on pretty much your engine. It is a bit more work than the upper seals, you can DIY if you are comfortable with the procedure after watching the video.

Well that might explain it!

I will certainly look into replacing the lower seals now.

Thanks.......................another 100 degree day.
