Default Would You Buy This 07 Accord - Rear End Collision Salvage Title

I’m looking at buying an 07 Accord V6 SE with a salvage rebuildtitle. I’ve purchased 3 salvage Hondas beforefrom the same seller and have had great luck with all of them but never onewith rear end damage.I don’t care aboutcosmetics.Going to be a daily ruralwork commuter vehicle.I don’t careabout resale.I’ll drive it to 200k+mi ifit’ll get me there, the past 3 did.Ijust care about a reliable vehicle that I’m not going to have major issues withat a later point due to the damage.I’llbe sure to check panel gaps, trunk lid gaps, wheel well clearance, and makesure it does not pull off center when driving.Anything else I should check?IfI can see where the rear steel bumper cross member bolts to the frame, I’llcheck that out.Any other advice?I know a salvage vehicle is a roll of thedice. It only has 55,000 miles on it andI can get it for a great price.Theseller specializes in these salvage resales so it’s not a fly by nightoperation. Thanks.

I'd buy it; in fact, if it was one of the rare V6 6-Speed Manual models (I think 2007 was one of the years they made that combination), I'd be all over that car like shine on a polyester leisure suit.

Not the 6-speed stick... it's an auto. But, yes, 07 was a year they made the V6 6-speed stick. Car is really clean other than the rear collision damage that was repaired. This type of damage is always hard to fully know exactly how it was repaired since a lot of the repair details cannot be seen without removing body panels. Hence the roll of the dice... but as long as the frame and suspension are good, other than maybe gas tank or electrical, I don't know what else could have been affected by the damage. I don't care about cosmetic issues.

Just do your homework with the car. There is a good ericthecarguy video series on buying used cars you should watch. Also schrodinger's box on youtube has a video series that may help.

Make sure all electronics in the rear of the vehicle work.

I encourage you to take the vehicle to a shop that specializes in hondas to do a used vehicle inspection. You also may want to see if the rear tires are in-line.

I'd get a 4 wheel alignment and drive it. Maybe have all of wiring in the trunk area checked out, but otherwise I don't really see any problems with it.

You're more likely to have problems from a flood damaged car than that one.

My thoughts exactly. Fixing a car with rear-end collision damage is far simpler than front end damage where so many tender and very-critical systems live.

If possible, ask them to put it up on a lift, that and pull out the spare and look at the full floor of the trunk.
