Thank you so much to all who helped out!

And it's also great to know that the SRS system/airbags are still covered under warranty:D

I didn't realize that.

Don't grin so much until the dealer says OK to the warranty claim... I've heard stories about dealers trying to deny that.

I actually work at a Nissan/Subaru dealer in Northern California.

I'm not too worried but if it says that it's covered in the owners manuals or the warranty information booklet that comes with the owners manual, that's the way to check for sure.

Sorry it took me a while to find the 96 shop manual. The 96 has a different set of SRS codes than the 94 shop manual.

7-1, 7-2, 7-3 are all codes for the Internal failure of the SRS unit. There are no diagnostics for it, the shop manual just says to replace the main unit.

If the light comes back on, then that is the likely fix.

If the light doesn't return, I don't know what to suggest. Its a safety feature on the car, and I don't like to take chances.

Do any of the techs on here have a suggestion?

Thank you so much for the interpretation of the codes.

If the light pops back on, we'll look into getting a new SRS unit for it.

Thanks again and take care,

Donnie
