Default 2.5" crush bent exhaust

Hello, I have a 2000 accord lx (ulev) 5 spd. I have a short ram intake and a header installed. I was thinking of putting 2.5" crush bent piping from the cat to the stock muffler. Has anyone done this or have any opinions on this? Reason for this, is that Im not a fan of big mufflers.

I have a 2002 4 cyl ulev auto and Ive been doin a lot of reading about exhaust online. For that small engine, everyone seems to recommend a max 2.25 inch exhaust. The 2.5 inch will slow down the exhaust like a stream flowing fast in a narrow channel then slowing down in a wide open area....We want fast flowing exhaust and 2.5 inch pipe will slow it down. We also want little resistance to flow from the muffler. A stock muffler has a lot from everything I read online, so clogging up larger slow flowing pipe with a low flow stock muff is the worst of everything. Get a new muffler first, I just ordered a Dynomax Superturbo for $69
and see how that works

He is talking about crush bent exhaust not a mandrel bent. Your exhaust is only as big as the smallest bend in your exhaust. So if you were to go mandrel you would want 2.25' but with crush bent you want tab bit bigger so you go with 2.5'

I'm new to the site but I got a 2.5 inch pipe from the stock manifold back. I've got a 22in glasspack and I don't know what the muffler is. I'm not pleased, I actually think I lost horsepower. I'm not too sure what all this bend stuff is you are talking about is either... But I don't reccomend a 2.5 myself. Just my opinion though...

Id scratch that turbo muffler and get something that holds little more back press. Did you delete your cat or are you still running one?

I’d go back with the cat for little bit more back press. Anytime you do exhaust work you will notice a little bit of a loss in the low end but you gain in the high end b/c the exhaust can flow faster. Also you will find it better if you get a tune. You should all ways tune your car when doing bigger exhaust so your not running so rich and get the right air fuel mixture for your new mods. You don't need a dyno tune just get a simple street tune and you will notice a nice difference.

If your talking about the tune you will need to find a tuner in your area. Some tuners can tune your oe ecu or you might have to get a chipped ecu.
