Default 2001 accord 2.3 header decision?

Just bought a honda accord 2.3L ULEV-V-TEC and am looking to get some headers. Looking for your opinion, and I am looking for good power gains at a reasonable cost. So any ideas of which headers would be the best for me would be appreciated. thanks

hi there, and welcome.
It's not a good idea to put a header on an i4 since you will lose low-end torque and gain too little hp to compensate. if you decide to get one anyways, then try to get a 2"-2 1/4". no more than that. might wanna try w/ summit, dc racing, and...... ok, i forgot where else...

I would not put a header on a 4 cyl. Just as Kevin said above, you will actually lose low end torque making your car slower off the line. You will maybe gain 1 or 2 hp. Not hardly worth the effort.

well i'm just looking for something too replace the headers on my car cause the one on there is rusted to death...Just don't want to go with a oem header of the same kind...So basically looking for something aftermarket with the same specs but with a nice stainless or chrome finish to them more looks then anything...Cuz I am also getting a magnaflow catback exhaust for it ....

wat u cant be serious?? Any header is better than the stock one. I got a DC SPORT one on mine and definitely felt an increase in hp and torque. I got the exact same car: 2001 Accord ex 5-speed

I was looking into headers for my '02. Be careful if u have a california u-lev model..
The exhaust manifold, downtube, cat, and exhaust pipe are different on these and
at least the DC headers will not fit the ulev model.

you put a DC header on?? any good with stock exhaust or do you have something eles? Im looking into a DC header with Magnaflow exhaust system. what do you think?? another question is does this system come with a Cat. converter???

if its a good choice tell me everything i need right to the gaskets.

Well I bought the car with the headers on and it was attached to an exhaust system but I don't know what kind that is.

I am pretty sure that if you put a DC sport Header on your car with the stock exhaust it will make an increase in HP and Torque, but the best thing for headers is an exhaust system. The headers provide a larger passage way of exhaust feums to leave the engine and with an exhaust system like a Magnaflow will increase that flow more steadily generating more torque.

Im not sure about if it comes with a Cat. CONV. or not.??

P.S How do I tell What Kind of Exhaust System is on My Car?
