Default 2011 V6 Coupe exhaust advice help needed

Hello All,

I recently purchased this vehicle and would like to upgrade the exhaust. Looking for a deeper more "throatier" growl than the standard exhaust. I don't want it to upset the neighbors (not too loud) or be noisy while highway driving.

What do you advise? I am not really knowledgeable about exhaust systems. The little research i did seems to indicate a Magnaflow cat back system or Megan Racing??????

Any help or input or advice would be appreciated.

I would go with the Mangaflow over the Megan Racing any day. Flowmaster has more of a deep tone also. Not sure if they make a exhaust for your car tho. Something you can always do is find the muffler(s) of your choice and take your accord to a exhaust shop and have them make you and MANDREL bent exhaust then add your muffler(s). Might even be cheaper too.

Thanks for the input. If I'm just looking for the sound change should I just change the muffler or everything?

yes if it's sounds your looking for then just change your muffler it will be much much cheaper. Prob. Cost you like 30-40bucks plus the muffler. Buy the muffler online and just take it to a exhaust shop. Also look into flowmaster 40 series. They have a nice deep tone and also are made for imports.

Thanks, will do that. Do you know where I can find the dimensions of the factory mufflers. I've tried googling but can't find them. I don't want to buy one that won't fit.

I looked at the Magnaflow (part #14829) and the flowmaster 40 (but not sure which one). Sorry for all the questions

they can make any muffler fit. So if you buy a 2.5' and your pipe is only 2in they can find a coupler pipe to make it work. So just buy what you want. I would personally buy a 2.5' inlet muffler. So if down the road you want to upgrade your exhaust you will have the right sized muffler.

Ok, I think I've finally got it. I am going to get the Magnaflow 5X8 Oval 2.5"/2.5"
20" overall length, 14" length of muffler. Part #14226.

Of course getting two of them. I'm guessing I should go for the polished stainless steel or just the regular stainless. Looks like about a 40.00 diff. per muffler.

that sounds good. As for the polished or not. You have to make your mind up on that one....as it is your car lol

Me personally I would get the non polished and paint them black. So you have the "sleeper" type look. You will have a good sounding exhaust and it will look stock. But that’s just me. I don't like everyone knowing what I have done to my car when I pull up to a stop light. I love to be underestimated

Go with the Magnaflow #16817 . Cat back Stainless steel. Fits like factory. It took me 45 mins to install by myself by just lifting 1 side of the car in my garage.
it sounds great altho there is some resonance at 2000 -3000 RPM. I bought it at Hottexhaust .com for $579.00 shipped. Make sure you look for the coupon in the homepage. you will save 15%.
