I agree that the low-end torque is lacking, but not completely missing.

There's a few times when my car lurches forward after lightly tapping the gas, but the moment has to be perfect for it to really get some bite.

Also, I believe I read that if you use a TSX header it's diameter is about 20-25% wider and can help more in the low-end torque area.
I'll have to find that write-up later.

I agree, you really have to learn the gas pedal to get the full potential of the motor. I can "trick" my TCM into getting the auto to act like a manual based on how I use the pedal.

yeah, that's a good description of it...

A learned application of acceleration causes an expected reaction and simulated interpolation of manual transmission engagement.

ok so maybe that was cheezy...

Spaz .... I think that you are thinking of the TSX intake manifold upgrade, not the header.

so what makes the greddy or apexi better than just a regular fart cannon if theyre basically just straight through too?

Sound mostly i guess... it doesn't sound like a fart.

Also, the weld spots are done better, and look of a higher quality.
And GReddy/Apexi are respected brand names.

The mid-pipes are 60mm which is a good size for our engines. The resonator and muffler are tuned to the engine. As mentioned, the sound they put out is nice and throaty rather than weed-whacker-ish. Please look at the videos that Spaz posted and compare those sounds to some of the cheep stuff that you hear on the street (usually on Civics and Corollas).

hahaa.. yeah i saw this civic the other day with this really wet fart sounding exhaust.. looked like a torpedo..

i played like my car didn't have any get-up and let him pass me with his squat-mobile... when he got ahead by about 3 car lengths, i floored it past him..

he came up next to me at th enext light and asked what i did to make it sound so good, and i said "well, i have quality parts.. that makes a difference.. and i have an intake, which is probably what you actually heard".. and he goes.. "hmm... so that's what good **** sounds like huh?"

at which time the light turned green, and i left him sitting there.
