Explain to me how a tuned second-order resonance system is a simple design. A simple design is the filter strapped to the throttle body. Like I mentioned earlier, technically there are gains over the Bomz system, but they will be unnoticable without a dyno and hardly worth the extra $200 IMO. On my Accord, I had an Injen CAI and made a custom intake similar to the Comptech Icebox out of the stock parts. The differance between the 2 systems was not measureable on my G-Timer. The differance is in the sound. If you look at it from a pressure drop viewpoint, the V2 is more restrictive because it's not a straight shot to the engine; it has a larger plenum. Plenums interrupt airflow and increase system pressure.

my view is over 200 bucks you can spend somewhere else cause if you are that hard up for 1 more hp you must have an amazing expendable income

I have the 02 V6 as well and I will say, the V2 is worth every penny. You can hear that thing sucking air in over the noise of the engine all the way up to about 3500. After that point, you can hear whistling and the motor is just throtty as hell. I don't know if this is normal, but I lost about 8 MPG when I got mine. I assumed it was because this thing boosted my low-end where I spend most my time driving.

X2^ you get that nice noise and you suddenly want to run in the higher RPM range all the time.... I had a V2 on a civic and it does sound beautifull but unless you are planning a MASSIVE build, like 300 hp N/A or 600 hp Turbo then the noticeable difference between a v2 and a bomz intake is going to simply be sound and looks only... Plus the right to stick an AEM sticker on your car... *L*

And of course the difference in quality. But who cares about that, right? [&:]

It's just an aluminum (T6061) pipe....what matters most is the filter and whether there are proper connections on the pipe itself.

Yeah, I have been lookin at the V2 and gettin caught on the hype, but for the money....? I'm gonna have to say ebay SRI with a good filter for me and spend the $$ saved on something else. Unlessyou can find a V2 used or something I'd pass.

I just got an 05 accord coupe v6 6 speed and Im curious as to whether or not everyone lost mileage or just got a heavier foot with the V2? and also is it true the whole deal with a 20 buck tube and a K&N filter gives you identical performance?

IF you want to go cheap then go with the ebay crap, even though there are good stuff on ebay. Almost all the cold air intakes have the same power gain, depending on thecar/engine In my opinion itsall on the person and how they want it. AEM V2 its new, a little (if) any hp gain, Thats why its all hyped upbut the same thing performace wise, but im sure from what every one is saying the sound is awsome. I will be getting the V2 very soon, COLD AIR is the only way to go hope this helps FOX
