aftermarket intakes arent good for your engine?

I got the impression that he talked to his mechanic about performance options or his mechanic saw the aftermarket filter when servicing the car....unfortunately with honda engines there really are not that many gains to be had by trying to mess with the intake and cylander heads already on the engine. HOWEVER WITH THAT SAID you can do some really neat things like swap engine parts around for example H22a head on F motor or 3.5L block with j30a heads and CL-S cams...for some pretty impressive gains.

I am just trying to point him into a direction where he can get some real gains for minimal cost

yea ive got about 260 on my motor and have been running my shorty for about 230k now and my motor runs great, in fact the older and more miles it gets, the meaner she is. it boggles my friends minds when they look at the odo, especially cause they trash their cars every year i guess.

its currently at 170k

u can get da gay as filters that are track use only cant u which i ges cud be the ones they talkin bout??
