Default body style exhaust question

So I've been doing a bit of research lately and found that an exhaust for a I4 coupe can be put onto I4 sedan, just by welding on a 3 inch extension in the pipe to make it fit.

Does that work for a V6 sedan as well? If so, I'd like to buy an exhaust for a V6 coupe and just use that, seeing as an exhaust system for a v6 sedan is almost nonexistent.

Thanks.

Reallllly.....I'm been dying to put a catback exhaust on my 4cyl sedan...and all I can find are coupe versions.[:@]

3" extension is all you need? Very sweet....I'll just tell that to the body shop mechanic lol.

if thats the case any mechanic or muffler shop with a saw and blowtorch can do it.thats no biggie,i would just have them measure three inches of pipe, ask them to cut the exhaust system in the middle and place the pipe in and blow torch it and then boom ready for installation

i guess that's what he meant... HPJ: a blow torch is not for welding... maybe heating up something to mold it but depends on the material...

maybe you can have one made in a muffler shop... or get the measurements for the coupe and try to see if it will fit in... the car's body is the same for i4 and V6 either both sedan or both coupe... make sure the channels for the piping are correct... but i'm guessing it shpould be the same thing bro... just add a bit of pipe...
