If you don't like it at least you aren't out a mint. $38 is less than a full tank of gas.

Yeah, and its really sad that you are able to say that. Gas is getting way too ridiculous.

I used the shorter bracket to fasten the tube (via a hose clamp) to a bolt on the inner fender to secure it from rattling/bouncing around. I was concerned if the intake moved around too much one of the boots would work loose and let in unfiltered air. I'll post a pic this evening.

I only used what came in the kit, except I bought a Spectre 3-inch coupler from Autozone for about $7 http://www.spectreperformance.com/#CATALOG.8771

and slid it over the tube (w/ help from WD-40). I then clampedthe short bracket under the hose clamp and screwed the other end of the bracket to a fender bolt that secures a mount for some wiring. Had to bend and twist the bracket a bit, but that was easy with pliers as it is aluminum.

That is all that secures the intake, except for where it attaches to the throttle body with the hose clamps. It fitspretty snug, and all the bracket does is keep it from moving up and down; side to side movement is contained pretty well already by how it fits in the engine compartment.

I'll post a pic later today. I've ordered a K&N filter from Summit for about $50. There are cheaper K&Ns, but I picked the reverse cone design.

You may want to loosen that bolt a little. If you floor your vehicle you whole engine rocks back. If you do that you may bend the intake or cause added stress to the intake manifold. AEM sri's do bolt in the same position but its a rubber bolt that allows the intake to move and bounce while still staying secure.

Thanks for your concern, but I don't think it will be a problem because the bracket is a very smallflimsy piece of aluminum and is only held to the tube by the hose clamp. It would give out before anything else.
