Cat backs on a 99 v6 accord
I was looking on NOPI and they had this cat back system by Number 1 for a 98-00 V6 accord. 2 question\
1. Is Number 1 a good brand for exhaust? because i dont want my accord to sound like a cavalier without a muffler.
2. Do headers improve exhaust tone? I saw headers by AEM for about 150 and I was wondering if i got headers would it improve my exhaust tone.

I can't vouch for the N1 exhaust but I will tell you that headers make a world of difference, especially with an intake. $150 is a real good deal and I would want more info about them. My header has really smoothed out the power and I don't have to bang on the engine as hard for the get up and go. I think you need to get some more info about these products and post them, like name brand, etc.

About the headersI was way off. they were N1 headers and the ceramic ones were 138 and the stainless steel were 178. Is there a big difference between ceramic and stainless steel?
Sorry about the wrong information on the headers[&o]

Cermic headers keep the heat in better so it helps keep the flow going well, but they will eventually rust, unlike stainless steel. If you want name brand headers that are reallygood quality, I would recommend OBX. I have them and they are great. I wouldnt really trust knock off headers...but thats just me. Let us know what you decide!

i would have to agree with sir_nasty. i would recommend getting a name brand one. spend some extra money and you wont have to fix your car in the long run. obx makes some good headers. just do your research. and good luck.

ok so ill forget about the N1 exhaust. headers seems to be DC or OBXbut what about an intake? I know intakes improve your sound and I want my accord to sound beastly!. but of course not annoying or too loud, theres justa certain noise that I cant explain.....im sure most of you understand. haha

RE: Cat backs on a 99 v6 accord
because of the cost of intakes and the small performance gains the general feeling around here is to just get a cheap ebay SRI and a good K&N filter for it.... If you go with CAI get a bypass valve... If you have the money to spend and want the absoloute most power you can get then AEM or Injen are good but spendy and very minimal gains over non name brand....
